O God, whom heaven cannot hold, you inspired Christina Rossetti to express the mystery of the Incarnation through her poems: Help us to follow her example in giving our hearts to Christ, who is love; and who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen. 27 April. Christina Rosetti – Lesser Festival http://anglicanhistory.org/bios/cgrossetti.html

In the Eucharist, with the Risen Jesus present as our food, we are worshipping with the saints and angels in heaven. But the risen Jesus who is the heart of the heavenly worship is also a Jesus who was crucified, and we share in heaven’s worship only as sharing also in the Jesus who suffers in the world around us, reminding us to meet him there and to serve him in those who suffer. Indeed in the Eucharist we are summoned by two voices, which are really one voice: ‘Come, the heavenly banquet is here. Join with me and my mother and my friends in the heavenly supper.’ ‘Come, I am here in this world in those who suffer. Come to me, come with me, and serve me in them. – Michael Ramsey, Archbishop of Canterbury

He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war anymore.
Come, descendants of Jacob,
let us walk in the light of the Lord. – Isaiah 2:4-5

A Daily Prayer for 2017
A Resolution to Seek Christ in the New Year
Sing to the Lord, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day.
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples(Psalm 96)
Heavenly Father, no one has ever seen you.
Jesus the Christ, closest in relationship to you,
has made you known to us.
Therefore, this day and this year, I am resolute to seek
my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in all that I do. (John 1:18)
I am resolute to seek Christ in the Holy Scriptures.
May the Holy Spirit guide me this week in revealing
the Word of God to me as I read, pray, and study the Bible.
I am resolute to seek Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
In humility, penitence and faith, help me, O Lord,
to join in the real presence of Christ each week
in the Holy Communion. (Luke 24:30-31)
I am resolute to seek Christ in the poor in spirit. (Matthew 5:3)
Many hunger for bread. I will feed them.
Many hunger for the Word of God. I will proclaim the Gospel.
May I encounter Christ and serve Christ the King
as I serve the least of His brothers and sisters.(Matthew 25:40)
