Marriage is one of the most important steps
we can take in our lives and the wedding is only the beginning. We welcome the opportunity we have been given to marry adults in a Christian ceremony in Church in the United Arab Emirates and we will do our best to help make your wedding day a very special time, offering any help or advice that we can.
Because we come from many different nations and are living in another country the paperwork for a UAE church wedding can occasionally be more complicated than when at home but we will try to help you through the procedures. We are allowed to conduct weddings for Christian couples aged 18 or over but are not allowed to conduct weddings where either partner is a Muslim or has a Muslim father.
If you’ve come to this page to find out about how to get married at St Luke’s, then congratulations on finding someone you want to share your life with!
Don’t get the embassy papers though until you have met with the chaplain or had it confirmed that we are willing to conduct a marriage ceremony for you – it would be a shame to pay for that and then find for some technical reason (e.g. the Chaplain is on holiday on your dream date!) that we can’t do it. When the Administrator fixes you up with an appointment with the Chaplain she will tell you what you need to bring with you.
We have put together a list of frequently asked questions about getting married at St Luke’s– and we hope you will find them helpful. If you do decide that you want to get married at Christ Church Jebel Ali, you will be asked to provide a number of documents but the main one, and one that we need before we pencil a wedding date in the diary, is the Wedding Application Form . Either send it to us or (preferably) come along and see us – call us at 07 221 6344 or email us email@example.com
But please don’t wait until your wedding to come to church! You will be very welcome at our Holy Communion service which on Fridays at 9.30 a.m.
